Ten Meters alive again!
10 meters is wide open this weekend. I worked the 10 meter contest. Had diverse DX contacts as N. Ireland, Madeira Island, Bogota, Columbia and Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. Definitely we are riding the sunspot openings!
Though I have a "9" call from Illinois, my QTH is in 8-land, West Michigan. I've been a ham since 1979 and have since worked WAC, DXCC and all using less than 70 W output using simple wire antennas. Shortwave listening (SWL) is another favorite hobby. I have snagged some good DX over the years. Lately, I've gotten into APRS, PSK and RTTY modes and also operate VHF packet.
