10 meters open!

Though this being a contest weekend on Ten, I really did not expect any openings on 10 meters. Well, I was wrong.....Signals from "2"- and "4"Land were coming in with fair strengths, S4-S7 in the CW portion of the band. I was running 100W using my TS-690S and managed to work the FOC CW contest with WK2G on Feb 3 at 1820. So I should not assume anything when it comes to propagation on 10, even at the bottom of the barrel cycle.
