CQ CQ 40 meter DX

Well, the sunspot cycle may in the dumps, but 40 meters can be hot after 02oo UTC. It's usually the premier MUF (maximum usable frequency) and DX is possible even for a very modest setup I have here. I'm running 100W to a 40 meter inverted-vee dipole, with the center the up about 25 feet. A few QSOs I've had lately:

  • EA8AH at 0155 on 7044 CW (Sep. 28)

  • YV1JGT at 0400 on 7035 PSK (Nov 23)

  • EA8FJ at 0445 on 7035 PSK (Nov 28)

  • TG9AHM at 0300 on 7035 PSK (Dec 7)

  • FM5AA at 0330 on 7035 PSK (Dec 7)
My advice to low power stations is use CW and digital modes which can come through a lot better that phone through QRM and QSB conditions.

73 and GUD DX
